In the Works
I am preparing to seek representation for my first novel, When Ali Met Tess.
Not all storybook friendships have a happy ending.
Artistic, indecisive Ali, a West Michigan reporter, and bold, demanding Tess, a rising star in Chicago’s advertising industry, have supported, loved, and mocked each other for a dozen years when Ali discovers her husband canoodling with another woman. Ali leans on Tess through it all— her new role as a single mom, her reduced finances, and the bewildering shame of having a cheating husband—and, in her distress, Ali misses that Tess is struggling with her own battles. Eventually, with Tess’s help, Ali rights her world.
Until Ali accidentally betrays Tess. Then everything changes.
When Ali Met Tess is a witty, heartwarming novel with richly flawed characters that explores the beauty, depth, and risks of women’s friendships.
