Hi, I’m Sharon. I’m a writer, humorist, and recovering nonprofit director who has traded writing strategic plans for writing stories. I have participated in writing workshops and conferences, including Erma Bombeck, Interlochen, Writers Digest, WFWA, and Yale Writers Workshop.

I live with a poorly behaved wheaten terrier named Hercules Mulligan—because Hamilton—and a mostly well-behaved husband, in a house that answers the question “why is stucco so rare in Michigan?” I’m a devoted fan of my adult children, red lipstick, photography, travel, Broadway, Catherine Newman novels, dark chocolate, and my badass feminist friends.

I write stories with humor and heart that explore the complicated friendships between modern women. I’m drawn to sassy, funny, richly flawed characters that sometimes say the wrong thing, make terrible decisions, and get into awkward situations. But can they get themselves out? Who’s to tell?

I am preparing to seek representation for my first novel, When Ali Met Tess.

Not all storybook friendships have a happy ending.
